Man should bring under his control the source of pleasure and pain. More than pleasure, it is pain that awakens the wisdom in man. If you study the lives of great men, you will find that it is out of trouble and pain that they derived wisdom. Without sorrow, there can be no wisdom. It is pain that teaches many lessons to man. Not realizing this profound truth, man pursues pleasure endlessly. No doubt, man needs to be happy. But how is happiness to be achieved? It is only when sorrow is overcome that man realizes happiness. Hence everyone should welcome sorrow in the same spirit in which he greets happiness. Pain and pleasure are intermingled. No one can separate them. Pleasure is never found separately by itself. When one is relieved of pain, one experiences pleasure.

Modern man's ironic pursuit for Freedom is due to its lack of Vision. Indeed, how can we ever see what's behind the horizon when we want to be comfortable only with that that is familiar? Why do we fear the Unfamiliar or Unknown? Why do we fear our True Self?
What we fear most is the Unknown, although from it we were created. We simply Forgot who we truly are and thus try to find a way to find ourselves. So, where are we. You guessed it! We are Here and there is more to it. The Here is also in the Now. We forgot due to the One becoming the Two, for the reason that the Duality is needed to become Conscious. As such we know ourselves by what constitutes the Outer, by the Two. Until we have come back Home...we will identify ourselves by the External, by Objects (feelings are objects too).
Moreover, in order to enter the cycle of Consciousness we must forget first, so that we can become a Seeker. This brings us to the Limit or Turning Point, from where we must Remember and come back to the Source with a New Consciousness of Freedom and who we truly are.
Having Returned to the Self...the Observer can endlessly extent itself in all directions from the "Here and Now", continually transcending the horizon by making it the Stepping-stone. This Observer sees through the eyes of the body and thinks through the brain of the body...and as long as we do not identify ourselves by this ONE...we will get attached to the objects which are seen by the eyes and what the brain entertains around it. The body is an object too... Thus the barrier is created between Subject and Object. This barrier correlates with the horizon by which the body is limited. This limitation creates FEAR (= the implosion of unreleased energy) and it is by fear that we are reminded that the ONE we try to find is WITHIN, because the ONE has The Power to make that Step.
We fear the Self, because we are Unfamiliar with the Self, who does not need a passport or credit card to comfortably travel at will. Thus as long as our comfort depends on the illusory we "live" IN fear and by the acquiring of objects to suppress the fear the fear increases. Fear creating fear. Enemy creating enemies. Ultimately one commits suicide, due to the lack of Will or Courage to transcend the limit from within.
We are born with the Labour Pain, to be initiated into the Feeling-body. Then we can feel pleasure and pain, which are the continuations of the "contractions" prior to the birth. By the contraction the mother experiences pain and by the expansion the pain ultimately changes into pleasure. The pleasure of birth. The baby has expanded its horizon. Then it must make its own steps to continue with the expansion of Vision. In other words, in order to find ourselves within our Self...we must identify our Self by what created our Self. This "self' is the Self or Observer, who has the Vision to SEE, regardless whether it is dark or light. To truly See is to BE. This BE or I AM is not limited by the barrier between Subject and Object, because it Masters the object (fear and pain are objects too). The I AM is the only ONE, that we also identify as the Observer or Experiencer and not the Experience.
To Know who we are is to have The Power to transcend any limit. Without it we "exist" in fear and since fear does not exist, because it is the creation of the illusory mindset...we are Nothing. The difference between the Nothing or Unknown from where we originated is...the "first Nothing" creates by the mastering of the Nothing within the Dual Realm. The "second Nothing" self-destruct, as the consequence of the object mastering us. In other words, we have become "less than Nothing". We have become meaningless and worthless at the moment that the object requires us to offer ourselves for its salvation. With this worthlessness there is no Meaning too. We will glorify suicide when life becomes meaninglessSo, it is typical that those who commit suicide do it out of fear. The fear to experience pain and overcome it will certainly keep us within the boundary or prison. We can die a "painless death", but rebirth will assure that we will not escape the labour-pain, that we need to resolve or overcome after the mother helped us with entering the Greater World that can bring forth Great People.
"pain-killers" are the greatest Killers! Also...anything we fear becomes our master. The most primitive form of life, the virus, has become the master of the most advanced form of life, the Human. Also the non-existent has become our master, especially money. Money merely "exists" by a concept of value. So, how can a price-tag govern the Priceless? How can non-existence control the True Being? How can the Finite void the Infinite?
Only the Priceless Self can "buy" the Priceless, such as Freedom. The "freedom" that must be defined by space and time and then be defended with the most costly armies, merely keep us within the invisible prison or birth-death cycle, that one justifies with the notion of "we only live once". By this narrow point of view and mindset true Love cannot be. True Love is Unconditional and thus cannot be limited by the horizon of the "only one life being". This we may comprehend with the constant attempt to practice Unconditional Love.
