Some believe that food and the body are not important. That it is consciousness or prana by which we can control our being. Indeed, when godhood Is attained we can even do without air and prana. Aren't we too much in our head by falling way short of the Goal, by ignoring the fundamental importance of food/blood? Haven't gods fallen, because they bypassed a step on their path?
One of the great yogis, Yogananda, got obese, became diabetic and died of a heart attack... but smelled like a rose without his body disintegrating due to a "overdose of prana". Why not an "overdose of good health" instead, while alive? How much more can we actually DO for the world and in service of the Creator, when we are not handicapped? How much more can the Dalai Lama resonate his prana and compassion when he has no inner-violence? He lost his gall-bladder due to improper eating.
Nelson Mendela, bishop Tutu, how can they show humanity that cancer can be avoided by using the greatest Medicine (preventive as well) that the Creator freely offers?
By having total health, at least of the body, only then can we begin to qualify to be a leader of Peace. What the world needs are the leaders who can teach by EXAMPLE.
Theory is cheap.
Practice is priceless.
We need both.
The messenger and message are one.
