In the Oneness or “all there is”… can we really detach ourselves from anything? Everything is inter-connected. What we need to be detached from is the detachment! It is by the Two not be in true touch with one another that a conflict can be experienced . Everything has a certain place in Creation. It is only by the part not being at the right time at the right place that a problem can arise.
The “body detachment” proclamation is often badly misunderstood. Hence the neglect that causes even greater body-attachment, due to the resulting ailments and pains. The body is Creator’s greatest Gift and requires the greatest CARE in order to express our APPRECIATION or LOVE. Without it we will certainly attach ourselves to the consequences. The issue is not the “body attachment”, but the attachment to the ”body neglect”! What follows is the attachment to drugs (“medicine”) operations, wheel-chair or some form of crutch.
Why not be patient and let the “body detachment” allow its course naturally? As such, by taking good care of the body… we will have a natural death or happy farewell. As is today, practically everyone will die unnaturally, of a disease, unfulfilled… to then return in order to fix the unfinished business in another body! Body detachment? If so, then take good care of the body, so that we can transcend it within the time while in the body. “great spiritual masters” find themselves in a wheel-chair or on the operation table (Dalai Lama), because of body neglect. Others have cancer (Krisnamurti) or have diabetes (Yogananda). Of course, the body-care must not overshadow the mind and soul, for all three must be in harmony in order to serve the Whole (Health means Whole). Neglect one of the three and the Whole will collapse, Within. That’s what disease is the result of, whether it is of a physical, mental or spiritual nature. Practically all mental and spiritual problems are due to the bodily neglect by way of Food. It is the common sense line of reasoning that what precedes us must be contained and cared for in order to be able to proceed. We begin with the body (first the Heart) in mother’s womb. The mind becomes then gradually “noticeable” after birth. Then the spiritual aspect. All three must unfold at the right time and at the right place. “detach” from the body at the wrong time and place… and we will soon find ourselves watching the grass’ roots from below the earth! Think.
